MORE INFO about Robin and Jenna

Known and respected internationally both as a dancer and DJ, Robin Thomas' enthusiasm for Argentine tango can be seen most clearly in his wholehearted dedication to teaching. He believes that it is very important for students to dance simply and musically from the very beginning. Building that strong base of connection and musicality early, Robin believes, will allow even very new beginners to feel comfortable and confident on a crowded dance floor and will also lead to a more comprehensive and fluid understanding of more complicated techniques later on. Robin's teaching style reflects this philosophy, and his students appreciate the humorous but still down-to-earth way he presents the material.

Robin is one of the more sought after Tango DJ's in North America. In addition to his regular milonga in New York, he has been invited to teach and DJ in many successful Tango events in the US, Canada and Europe.

To Jenna Rohrbacher, dancing tango is an ongoing search for the complete. Balanced by complexity in movement and purity of sensation, her elegant dance embodies the traditional roles of Argentine tango and beyond. In teaching, Jenna encourages students to discover their individual connections to the music as well as focus on laying a foundation of solid technique upon which they can build their dance. Jenna has taught and performed for the last three years around the U.S. with several acclaimed dancers, as well as in Europe and Buenos Aires. In September 2010, Jenna wrote, produced, and directed Tango Éxtasis! for the Miracle Theater’s La Luna Nueva festival in Portland, Oregon; the following month, she taught and performed at Portland Tango Fest. Jenna is currently in New York teaching tango classes with Robin Thomas and private lessons.
